About Marana, Arizona

Incorporated in 1977, Marana is located between Tucson and Phoenix, Arizona. This young town was once inhabited by the Hohokam people who developed an extensive canal system used to irrigate crops with water from the Santa Cruz River.

Today, about 35,000 residents call the small town of Marana home. Residents and visitors of all ages enjoy many outdoor activities under the beautiful sunny Marana skies. There’s Boomerang Bay at Kings Island Water Park and Breakers Water Park, both offering wave pools and more than 30 water slides to keep the youngsters happy all day.

Or, take a hike at Sanctuary Cove and enjoy the serene desert landscape set to an amazing Arizona sunset. There are also a variety of golf courses to enjoy including the Heritage Highlands, the Gallery Golf Club, The Pines and more. At Cocoraque Ranch, take a private guided horseback ride through a 16,000 acre working cattle ranch.

While visiting Marana enjoy some of the local favorite restaurants including an authentic western dining experience at The Steak Out or join the fiesta at La Olla Mexican Café.
